What is your name and role at C&C?

Morris Ferris, I prefer Mo as that’s what most people call me. I’m a welder here at C&C, which means I spend most of my time fabricating and repairing metal structures. My day can involve anything from reading blueprints and prepping materials to operating welding equipment, making precise welds, and ensuring everything meets safety and customer standards.

How have you seen the industry change over the years?

It’s definitely developed over the last few years – we’ve seen work increase, become more advanced. It’s meant that C&C have been able to grow and invest in better machinery and plan for future projects.

What does a day in the life look like?

Fast. We work on a lot of projects simultaneously that requires different skill sets – so I’m constantly challenged each day. I like working quickly and with my experience it means I can complete jobs on time and to the highest quality. C&C has a good working culture where we’re motivated to work hard.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Getting satisfaction from my work. I’m proud of the work I do and won’t send anything out that’s not to our standards. Customers are consistently happy with the work, which, at the end of the day is what it’s all about!
