A recent C&C project in York demonstrates how this approach works in practice.

As part of a £1 million office refurbishment, C&C was commissioned to create a range of bespoke steel elements, including a handrail around a treehouse structure, a custom-designed staircase, a suspended bar cage, perforated divider panels and breakfast bar benches.

The project required close collaboration between the client’s wider design team and C&C’s own designers and engineers. Bryan Lee, Design Engineer, was responsible for accurate measurements, while Designer Engineer Lee Reed developed the elements in-house. Together, they ensured each component met the exact specifications required for the project.

As Bryan explains:

“Accuracy is key in every project we take on. For this particular job, we ensured the measurements were precise to guarantee the handrail, staircase, and suspended bar cage seamlessly fit into the client’s vision. The challenge was integrating functionality with the design, but it was a rewarding experience to see the final result.”

Lee Reed adds:

“When it comes to bespoke designs, every detail matters. Working on this project allowed me to create elements that were not only functional but visually striking.”

 

 

The C&C team then manufactured the bespoke elements and installed the staircase on site, providing continuity from design through to installation. The completed fabrication helped transform the office into a modern, flexible workspace.
