What was your first job?
My first job was an apprenticeship at bus manufacturer Optare, in Cross Gates, Leeds. They realised I had a talent with sheet metalworking and created a personalised course just for me to fully hone my skills.
If you weren’t in your present position, what would you be doing?
Steel fabrication is where I’ve always worked and enjoyed, so I’d probably still be working in the industry.
What’s the worst mistake you’ve ever made?
The worst mistake I ever made was getting a curry that was way too hot for me to handle, I learnt my lesson the hard way!
What’s your ideal day away from the office?
My ideal day away from the office is spent at the coast with my two dogs and my wife Natalie, enjoying a nice walk and drink in a pub with a sea-view.
Name one person you’d like to have dinner with and why?
I’d like to have dinner with Kylie Minogue. I recently saw her in concert and have always admired her music.
What was your best subject at school?
My best subject at school was design and technology, which might surprise people.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies consist of going to my local pub, socialising with my friends and going on holiday with my wife Natalie to relax and unwind from busy weeks in the office! We love to explore different places and even went on safari recently. I’m also a big Castleford Tigers fan and always take the opportunity to go to matches down at the Jungle.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
If I won the lottery I’d share the winnings with my family and probably retire.
